Dominion of Pride

Before the advent of Jesus Christ upon earth the beautiful virtue of humility was little known and little loved. It was even despised, because pride, the first cause of man's fall, dominated all. The Son of God, therefore, came down from heaven to teach it, not only by word, but also by His example.
